For the first time in 27 years, a Utah Jazz player has scored 50 points in a regular-season game. They needed every one of them, too. Lauri Markkanen’s 51-point, 14-rebound performance pushed the Jazz to an overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the OKC Thunder will host Russell Westbrook and the Sacramento Kings at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Cooper Flagg appears to be figuring things out three games into his NBA career. The Dallas Mavericks rookie put together his best outing so far in a 139-129 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. He dropped 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, adding four rebounds, four assists and a block.

Tyrese Maxey scored 43 points and rookie VJ Edgecombe added 26 as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic 136-124. The Sixers are now 3-0.

Lauri Markkanen scored a career-high 51 points, the first Jazz player to reach 50 in the regular season since 1998, and Utah beat the Phoenix Suns 138-134 in overtime on Monday. Markkanen made all 17 of his free throws.
