A day after revealing its latest stellar sales figures, Nintendo has confirmed it will now "shift" its development focus to Switch 2 — and revealed that 84% of the console's early adoptees were players who owned Switch 1.

Despite a high price by Nintendo standards and poor economic conditions, people are lining up to buy the Nintendo Switch 2.

Japanese video-game maker Nintendo's net profit jumped 85% in April-September from the previous year, as its sales more than doubled following the launch of its hit Switch 2 console in June.

Nintendo shifts full focus to the Switch 2 as its new standard, while the original Switch remains available as long as demand continues.

Nintendo is now predicting that it'll sell 19 million Switch 2 consoles by the end of its current financial year, up from previous predictions.

An official Nintendo Store app has finally been released on mobile, allowing players to shop games, accessories, and other merchandise on their phone. The Android and iOS app was previously only available in Japan, but has now launched for most major regions, excluding Australia and New Zealand.
